The BCRA is a registered charity whose object is to promote the study of caves and associated phenomena. In 2005 it will continue the process of 'consolidating' with the newly-formed BCA. Also See BCRA's Guide to BCA

The new national body for caving in the UK, arising out of a 'consolidation' of services provided by NCA and BCRA. It is recognised as the National Governing Body by the Sports Council who give grant-aid to some of its activities. The BCA is being 'phased in' over a period; NCA was dissolved in March 2005 and further changes to BCRA are expected in the ensuing months.
